THERAPIES FOR CARERS
The Princess Royal Trust for Carers run popular regular therapy sessions for unpaid carers. Sessions take place on the last Wednesday of every month (except December) from 11-3 at the surgery in Aberfeldy. Carers can book a full 45 minute session of either Reiki with Fiona Dickson or Indian Head Massage with Tony Ellis. A donation of £5 is requested. To make an appointment, please ring Keith Scott at the Gateway in Perth 01738 567076
As well as being our Shiatsu practitioner, Anneke has been running the Biodynamic Garden at Camserney with her team since 2014.
The aims of the voluntary group are to increase the production of biodynamic vegetables, herbs and flowers on an acre of organic land in rural Perthshire for sale and consumption by local communities, to promote an understanding of innovative, biodynamic methods and provide vulnerable people in our community with the skills, support and space to train, volunteer and work.
In the process they are creating a beautiful and peaceful space for local people to be and tourists to visit. They have provided volunteering opportunities for people from Corbenic Camphill Community, the Wellbeing Support Team, individual disabled people and delivered three workshops on Biodynamic Preparation.
They are committed to helping local communities to eat well and to have a choice in the fresh food they buy as well as promoting biodynamic gardening as an environmentally sound choice, ‘chemical free’, for land and garden.
To find out more about the garden or the veg. box scheme, or to arrange a visit, ring Anneke on 07746 11 77 62.
MINDFULNESS PRACTICE GROUP
With the help of the Well-Being team at Breadalbane there is a regular, free drop-in monthly Mindfulness practice group on the 1st Monday of every month at Breadalbane Community Campus between 6-30 and 8-30pm. A donation of coffee tea and biscuits will be all that is required. This is a great opportunity for some support with practice, to make some space in our busy lives.
The first meeting will be on the 5th February 2018. It is open to everyone whether they have experience of mindfulness or are just curious.
